The Story of Emenhiser Crop Solutions

Owner Dane Emenhiser has a deep history in agriculture — growing up on a family farm in Allen County and earning degrees in farm management and agronomy from Purdue University. He built a career selling seed for a company with more than 70 years of service to area farmers and became the company’s owner in 2021.

Today, Emenhiser Crop Solutions is well known for providing sound advice, superior products, and stellar service to farmers in northeastern Indiana. Thriving on the daily changes inherent in agriculture, the people of Emenhiser Crop Solutions are focused on helping their neighbors solve farming challenges and build profitable businesses.

Outside of our daily business, we also enjoy helping our neighbors’ children discover the wonder and fulfillment of farming. We hope that our sponsorship of 4-H members, projects, and events will help grow the love of agriculture in today’s youth — just as Dane grew his love of agriculture on his family farm when he was a boy.

Our Team

Dane Emenhiser

Owner

I grew up on a family farm in eastern Allen County in the days when hoeing beans in the summer was every farm kid's summer job. It was there my passion for agriculture, agronomy and hard work grew as I learned to identify weeds and, later on, plant diseases. Hoeing beans progressed into operating equipment and helping make decisions for the farm. My dad always challenged me to do things right the first time because “When will you have time to do it again?”

After earning degrees in farm management and agronomy from Purdue University, I built a career selling seed for Max Delagrange and his company which had more than 70 years of service to area farmers — and then became the company’s owner in 2021. My brother, Alex, joined my team as an intern in 2015 and joined full-time in 2016. Together, we truly enjoy being able to help our neighbors solve farming challenges and build profitable businesses.

In my spare time, I enjoy watching my kids play sports and show livestock, in particular pigs. My wife, Nicole, and I own and operate a small show pig operation. We also farm a little ground which helps me have a better understanding of the decisions my customers are making. I always try to make recommendations for my growers as if it were my own ground.

Alex Emenhiser

Sales Associate/Agronomy Manager

I grew up on the family farm, soaking in as much from that upbringing as possible. I have always had a passion for nature and a desire to learn and understand as much about my surroundings as I could. I was blessed with the opportunity to learn from my dad, and I continue to glean knowledge from him any time I can.

I attended Purdue University, where I studied agricultural systems management while minoring in agronomy and farm management. While at Purdue, I participated in internships with two major seed companies: one in research and breeding and one in seed sales. I spent another summer with Dane and Max Delagrange, where I experienced firsthand the customer-first service model that attracted me to this profession.

My wife, Jill, and I have two daughters, Ella and Macy. Outside of work, I enjoy gardening with my girls, woodworking, and hunting. I still have the passion and desire to learn about cutting-edge agricultural practices, leading me to a deep dive into cover crops and related topics. This discovery process is what led to my cover crop seed business, Recover Seeds.
